I have noticed that the zenkers stock solution(IN THE NOTES) has glacial acetic acid, but when helly's is made from stock there is formalin instead and no acetic acid. So, should the stock zenkers be just Potassium dichromate, mercuric chloride , sodium sulphate and distilled water?

Yes, the stock solution as it was written could be confusing. The acetic acid is only specific to Zenkers Acetic fixative and if you replaced the acetic acid and added formalin it is then a new fixative called Helly's. Sorry for the confusion.
